Day 1: 14 Days and 14 Writes
I didn’t know one could get writer’s block when all one usually did was recount things that had recently happened to one and try to weave in some silly jokes that, all told, would simply amount to a microscopic blemish on a tiny speck on a miniscule atom in the vast universe of blogging. But apparently you can.
And apparently people notice.
A surprising number of people have let me know that my weekly/bi-weekly updates have been missed. But more importantly, it’s something I’ve missed. Doing this is fun. As I mentioned in my last post, I just haven’t felt like I had the time or energy to construct anything profound or clever or not nonsensical lately.
So here’s the deal, loyal readers (both of you): I’m not going to. I’m not going to produce anything that is indeterminably worth anyone’s time. But I am going to write something (and by “write something,” I don’t mean I’m going to post a YouTube video with a sentence under it or that I’m going to quickly point you to a link that I think is neat, I mean that I am going to use the English language to convey independent thoughts and feelings) and “publish” it on the same day, every day, for the next two weeks. That’s 14 posts, at a rate of one per day, whether I have 3 minutes or 13 hours to compose it on that given day. And I’m even going to tell you all about it so I can’t just back out if I’m getting too stressed or I run out of steam. In fact, I just did.
I can’t promise that all of my attempts will be great…or even good…. What I can promise is I will have something brand new up, between 12:00:00 am and 11:59:59 pm, from the 1st (oh yes, this lil’ explanation here counts) through the 14th of this month.
What will the future will hold? Actually I’m quite curious about that myself.
