420. TableMaker
A nice way to take a shortcut when you have to create and style a data table for a website.
419. indabamusic
Sort of a combination between Facebook and GarageBand, you can create a (free) account on this site, upload individual tracks for songs you’ve written or covered, mix them, and then allow your “friends” to join the session and add their own tracks. Each new mix of the song can be saved separately. Kate, Kevin, and I have had a lot of fun recording “transatlantically” using this.
418. CROZ Live Archive
Direct-from-the-soundboard recordings from demo sessions and live performances by a wide variety of artists including Bob Dylan, Feist, and Led Zeppelin. All the selections are full (or near full) sets, zipped up and ready for download.
417. The List Universe
If I compiled a “Top 10 Stupid Ways to Waste Time” this site would totally be on it.
416. StateStats
“This tool shows you how popular a Google search query is in each US state…. It then compares this ranking with other ways of ranking states, like average income or population density, using Spearman's rank correlation.”
415. thisissand.com
On thisissand.com, “sand crystals” will fall to the bottom of the page for as long as you hold your mouse button down. Click the square in the top left to get instructions about how to alter your sand and make a “drawing.” You can also view other people’s creations in the gallery section.
414. List of School Pranks
All the old standards are here! Thanks, Wikipedia.
413. FM 100 Hue Test
Drag-and-drop 20 color swatches to create a gradual transition from one color to another. Kind of headache-inducing, but kind of fun.
412. YouTube Doubler
The simplest way I’ve seen to play two video clips simultaneously.
411. Deutsche Optik
A great place to shop for unusual army/industrial surplus.
