This week my Aunt Tere (Maria Teresa Gaston) has provided a "daily reflection" on the readings for Creighton University's ministry website. She used receiving our wedding invitation as an example of a "prophetic call" from someone who is familiar to her.

If you'd like to read what she's written you can do so right here.

She's provided a quite eloquent (and quite flattering) description of the way we have chosen to enter into marriage, and what that says about us.

The invitations are starting to go out!

There are actual "live" links to actual stores with actual items that you could buy as wedding gifts in the "Registry" section!

A printable map/directions sheet has been added to the "Travel Info" section!

The "Photos" section has been updated with pictures of us making the invitations! (Some folks at the NCSU College of Design were nice enough to let us use their beautiful 18x24" Vandercook letterpress to print our invitation design! And some friends and family were nice enough to help us get through the ordeal! Check it out!)

I can only type in exclamations right now!

More info coming soon!

If you are coming to the wedding from out-of-town and will need a place to stay, I have just posted information on the hotels in the area in the "Travel Info" section. Click here to go straight to it.

Hi there. Long time, no see.

We've been overwhelmed with positive responses to the Save the Date calendars (and the photos of us forcing our friends and family to help us letterpress them.) We'd like to take this time to say thanks, everyone, for your kind words. Hopefully we can come up with something just as good for the actual invitations.

Some other recent wedding developments that we're very excited about:

1. We've decided to have our reception at the Parish Hall at St. Michael's. We realize this will eliminate the age-old tradition of getting totally lost while trying to figure out where the post-wedding festivities are being held. We're hoping you'll forgive us for that.

2. The dinner at the reception will be a "Pig-Pickin'" with (non-North Carolinians, I cannot stress the importance of this next word enough) eastern-style NC barbeque... None of that western slop. Also, there will be chicken, hushpuppies, tea, something for the vegetarians, and all the other required stuff. There's even talk of banana pudding.

3. Mum (Steph's) is on the hunt for fabric for the wedding dress, which she will be making, and therefore will be amazing.

4. At some point during the reception, you will be entertained by the dancin', singin', and fiddlin' of ShaeLaurel, who will be there anyway, because they're family.

5. Some very talented people (friends Matt, Andrea, and Jerry from here in Raleigh and Witchger cousins Felipe, Martin, and Luke) have graciously signed on to provide music during the ceremony.

Six months to go and we're starting to get this thing planned!

We're starting to mail the Save the Date calendars out! If you've made it to this site, it's probably because you got yours and saw the site address on the bottom of the calendar, right?

You can see some pictures of us making them here.

Tomorrow is Steph and I's negative-one-year anniversary. Exactly one year from tomorrow we'll be getting married.

Many, many, many people have pointed out to us that this is still a ways off. But we're confident that the big day will be here before you know it, and that, even though we had all this time to do it, we still won't have anything planned. (We're procrastinators.)

Friends and family, you'll soon be able to count down, day-by-day, 'til our wedding arrives...slowly letting the excitement build 'til you can hardly stand it anymore and you have to sit down on the kitchen floor and breathe into a paper bag. This is because we've just finished letterpressing a one-year-long save-the-date calendar! (Good idea, right?) Also, it's magnetic, so you can slap it on your fridge. We're sending these out very soon, just as soon as we finish trimming, perforating, collating, and stapling all 300 tiny calendars. (Seemed like a good idea, right?)

Welcome to weddingbs.com!

So here we are: one proposal, one date-change, and one two-color letterpress printing into this thing. In the coming months this site will be a "hub" of useful information about our "wedding."

Check in often!
